General Office and Bookkeeping (GO&B)

CES College has developed the GO&B program to assist the students to attain the competencies and prepare for a variety of career opportunities in the area of general office and bookkeeping, such as Administrative Assistant, Clerk, Secretary, Bookkeeper, General Office Assistant, Bookkeeping /Accounting Clerk, etc.

The focus of this course is on skill development in the areas of basic office procedures, word processing, keyboarding, office machine and equipment use as well as fundamental accounting skills to be able to analyze transactions, sort and record accounting data.

Participants in this program receive classroom instruction in specific vocational areas including: Office work; Recordkeeping and Filing; Office Equipment; Microsoft Windows; Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Fundamentals of Bookkeeping and QuickBooks.

The program is 36/24 credit hours and consists of 720 clock hours.

The Overview of Office Work. Introduction to Computers. Microsoft Word. Score 225 or higher on CASAS test
Microsoft Excel. Keyboarding. 10-key Score 225 or higher on CASAS test
Correct English usage. Business Writing Score 225 or higher on CASAS test
Mathematics Refresher Course Score 225 or higher on CASAS test
Accounting Basics Score 225 or higher on CASAS test
QuickBooks Accounting Basics Course
Final Review. Employment Preparation Completion of All Courses
Internship Completion of All Courses

Schedule

The day class meets five times a week:
Monday - Thursday: 9:00am-2:00pm
Friday: 9:00am-1:00pm

Total 24 hours a week (31 weeks of instruction).
